   While not nearly as good of a story as Echoes, Fire Emblem: Three Houses manages to prove that the Treehouse team can actually do some good writing! There’s no pickle obsessed characters here, instead, I’ve become attached to my group of students during my Golden Deer playthrough. They are charming, and often times surprisingly deep. Speaking of, the models are absolutely lovely, so much so that they look better than the 2D art often. It’s unfortunate that the texture work is so lackluster, but it’s expected from a Koei Tecmo game. Still, the satisfying strategy and new RPG elements included in this entry make it incredibly hard to put down, with lots of content, I could easily see myself doing a second or third playthrough. (Wish there were more options for Male/Male S-Ranks, but eh. I’m unfortunately used to this dissapointment from FE Fates.) Overall, easily one of my favorite switch games.

   This game is insanely fun but also uses an egregious amount of recycled content for all 4 story paths (yes, I said 4 and not 3). The replay value is high with the various narratives and characters involved, but the gameplay might become stale after the 2nd playthrough due to the recycled content. Still a great game though. As a Fire Emblem enthusiast I have over 250 hours spent on this game, but I know that the average player might play a single path and be done with this game as each path is about 60 hours, and playing other paths with only 20% new content and 80% recycled content for another 60 hours is probably something many will not do.

   I would still recommend this game though, as even a single path feels like an entire game on its own.

   I was skeptical buying this game at first since its my first fire emblem game and I was not sure I’d enjoy how the battes are fought in this game. Within the first few hours of my first playthrough, I was already hooked. All the characters have such unique and charming personalities, I found myself getting attached to many of them. The battles were not as complicated as I thought, the only complaint I have with it is its repetiveness, which isn’t a huge problem for me.

   The story is really captiviating as well, I’m already on my third route playing with the black eagles and I’m exciting how the story will play out from this pov. I’m glad I went into this game without any spoilers, it’s so interesting seeing how all the routes overlap and differ. The golden deer route is my favourite route by far.

   I 100% reccomend this game if you’re a fan of rpg games!
