   So, I just finished installing it and, to be honest, the process was way more effort than it’s really worth, the Switch looks pretty, and the faceplate is really really visually appealing. The color is accurate to what I thought it would be and the texture of it is a nice matte finish. My issue was the process of reassembling the Switch Dock after installing the face plate. As high quality and pretty the actual faceplate is, the process of reassembly (Putting the LED cord and USB connector ribbon, screwing all the screws back in) is such a massive pain I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone not experienced with disassembling and reassembling their Dock. The Ribbon is especially tricky and deceptively difficult to get back in place. Quality, but such a hassle it’s really not worth the effort.

   I’m ngl I thought this was something that just clipped over the original faceplate of the dock. boy was I wrong!😂 I had to watch a YouTube video while putting on the replacement faceplate. it was scary but overall pretty easy. took a minute but it was worth it👍🏼 very cute and stylish.    I was a bit worried about having to take apart the dock to install the new faceplate, but it wasn’t very difficult. I have no experience with this type of thing too. Just follow the video tutorial step by step and it’s pretty straightforward.
   It fits great, but I did have to use some force to snap an inner piece into place. Everything works great and I’m satisfied!

   The product itself is fine but unlike the covers for the switch itself, You have to take apart the whole dock to install this faceplate (voiding the warranty, of course, if you care about that). All the tools are included as is a link to instructions (which consists only of a video, no words to walk you through it.) Luckily I had an extra dock lying around because I broke my dock trying to install this faceplate.

    I bought this to change up the front of the 2nd hand dock I’d purchased. I wanted a second one for upstairs so I didn’t have to keep moving it. The original dock was a little scuffed and has that manufactured defect some had with a front that bent inward (which risked scratching your switch).
    I bought 2 red one and black. Watched the video on YouTube. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to do. This is my first switch mod. It came with screwdrivers and replacement screws ( I reused my original screws however). It took roughly 30 minutes and looks really good. Bonus: it got rid of the defect as it completely replaced the defective part 👌🏽

    This dock faceplate is just as good as the official Nintendo one and is great for DIY projects. I put a decal on it and i adheres and looks fantastic.This installation was pretty easy but keep in mind that there is a sensitive ribbon cable and a LED with wiring inside on the dock connecting to the circuit board inside. BE CAREFUL when Connecting and disconnecting them. Please watch the YouTube Tutorial.

    This was a really good use of my gift card that I got for Christmas. It takes a steady hand and patience to get everything disassembled so don’t rush yourself – I hit a snag halfway through with the little chip for the LED charging indicator: there’s a really small wiring harness that plugs into the main circuit board on the underside of the chip that you have to take out using tweezers. I didn’t have the right kind of tool and couldn’t get mine apart. I was able to work around it without removing it, but it’s safer to remove it if you’re able to.After reassembling everything and plugging it in, I’m left with a much nicer looking switch with its own personality! I had a blast modding my switch, and if you want something more permanent than an adhesive skin, ExtremeRate is 100% the way to go

    I got this because I’m a sucker for white electronics – my PC case is white, my monitor, speakers, etc. I recently moved my switch dock to my computer desk instead of next to our TV. I thought it’d be nice for it to fit in with all my white stuff. I probably didn’t read enough of the details in the description, but I didn’t realise I’d have to disassemble the dock to connect this (idk I thought it might literally be a cover? Lol.) so, in case you missed that, that’s a thing. It looks super nice though. Glad I got it.

    Overall, the faceplate was the easiest item to install. I had purchased the joycon shells along with the one for the back of the Switch and none of those compared to how easy it was to install this. I still advise you to take your time and possibly purchase more screwdrivers that are made for the Switch to be safe. Another thing to note, the faceplate is a bit lighter of a pink than the joycon/Switch set you can order from eXtremeRate. Just something to keep in mind in case that is something you don’t want. However, from afar you don’t really notice and it’s a nice thing to have if you want your Switch to be all one color. It really makes a difference and makes the Switch seem more complete. I definitely recommend this!

    I haven’t ever replaced a piece of electronic like this before but I found the install to be very simple. I found a straight forward video to follow along with for the parts I felt unsure of myself. Like taking out the electrical portions and such.Comes with screwdrivers needed and fit securely in the screws, so no stripping happened during install which can be a hit or miss with some packages with those included. The only tool not included that I ended up using were tweezers. Just made things a little easier probably not essential imo.The color is a wonderful soft pink, exactly what I pictured when ordering.It doesn’t have a shiny top coat, for those wondering, it’s more of a matte type finish, ig. Which personally I prefer, so I’m happy about this.

    Here is a comparison for those wanting to purchase the full cherry blossom pink set from Xtremerate- the dock is a bit lighter than the joycons, but I’m very picky and didn’t even mind or notice that much! (Screen protector is also the pink one from Xtremerate)As for installation of the dock, it was pretty simple for someone with 0 experience taking apart electronics- I just followed a video, didn’t apply a lot of pressure and everything came out fine 🙂 Hope this could help someone!
