I really wanted to like this thing. The instructions have more info on how to carry the unit than how to connect to a a PC. They never mention windows, versions, drivers, etc. I researched separately and found it uses x-input (software/drivers) which is post-XP. So using this on an old PC running MAME isn’t going to work, at least not easily. I found some supposed drivers to bridge the old machine to later software but of course it won’t install.
I may be more lazy than savvy but if this unit had actual arcade quality buttons or anything close I would push to make it work, but after reconsidering how the buttons feel like you’re smushing a loose bottle cap into a baked potato I decided it’s just not worth it. Also, this and every other fight stick have the button layout as if players are crossing their hands (like a drummer). In the pics for this unit the standard 6-button pattern looked squared up, but no. So if you’re like me and puzzled by industry-wide ergonomic stupidity, skip the wrist pain and other headaches and don’t buy; I’m returning this thing. Already ordered an x-arcade hoping their “no drivers necessary” claim is true. At least their button layout is indeed square like arcade cabs used to have.

This is a pretty nice controller with a classic look. The stock buttons and joystick are not too bad, but if you’re picky like me and don’t care about voiding the warranty, you can install Sanwa, Seimitsu, or compatible parts. My main complaint is the button assignment, but you can customize this internally too. (Some wires are a bit short to move around, but it can still be done.)

As far as arcade sticks go, I would definitely recommend it! The build feels sturdy, its got weight to it and the full body leaves lots of room to rest your wrists and the pads at the bottom grip comfortably when playing on my lap. The graphics are laminated over so the top feels sleek so you don’t have to worry about the sticker peeling off or fear of cleaning the graphic after use. The buttons and lever aren’t Sanwa but instead Hayabusa which are different but not bad, they play just as well its just something to know if you’re considering swapping out any of its components. It has a square restrictor gate out the box and if you prefer a Octagonal one you will have to order it separately.
Overall, its a amazing fight stick and you can’t go wrong with picking this one as your first or adding it to your collection. Its plug and play is flawless and connects to both pc and Nintendo switch just by flipping a switch on the side. I’ve also have yet to experience any noticeable input lag or delay while playing so you can rest easy knowing you’re receiving quality for what you buy!

The HORI Nintendo Switch Real Arcade Pro – Street Fighter™ Edition has been a joy to use! This is my first fight stick that I have used at home to play console and PC fighting games after being used to playing on a controller for basically my entire life. I am old enough to have played the entire Street Fighter 2 series, Street Fighter Alpha series, Street Fighter 3 series, and other fighting games like the Street Fighter vs. X-men series in the arcades when I was a kid, but I never really got the chance to learn how to use a fight stick at a high level. Using this fight stick at home has been fun because it feels well made and has that classic arcade look. The buttons are satisfying to press and have good depth and size. The stick itself moves easily across all 8 directions and feels smooth to use when pulling off special moves. I have so far used the stick while playing Ultra Street Fighter 2 and the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary collection on the Switch, and have also used it while playing Street Fighter 5 on my PC. If you are like me and are curious about trying out a fight stick, I would totally recommend picking this up!

The box itself is great but I ended up swapping out the components for sanwa joystick and buttons. The Joystick which comes with it is very loose and the buttons don’t have a great feel. I was aware of this before the purchase so all in all, I knew what I was getting and it works well!!
