   DO NOT recommend. The tools stripped my screws, now I won’t be able to get the back off for any reason. In the pic: screw on the left is without use of tool, screw on the right is after use of tool.

   after a couple of months of usage, the rubber piece on the bottom of the kickstand came off, it still can hold the switch up just fine but it now slides around really easily on most hard surfaces making it hard to use on an inclined desk. a few nice to haves is that it was easy to install and that stand can be poped off like the original switch one can due to It being screwed down under the back shell.

   I chose this replacement set for the kick stand because it offered the tools as well. Man that was a good choice. It made installation really easy and I’m glad I didn’t need to hunt for small screwdrivers (1 of which is a weird head) to complete it. The part itself is nice quality and you can’t tell that it’s not the original one on the switch. Worth it.

   As long as you follow the instructions and keep careful track of where all your screws are, removal of the old kickstand and installation of the new one is easy and straight-forward. The kickstand looks pretty much identical to the official Nintendo one, and it seemed to hold the Switch in place far better than the old one, but unfortunately a piece suddenly snapped off of it after only a few months of use, and rarely ever opening the kickstand. The part of the plastic that keeps the kickstand closed, and therefore protects the SD card slot, snapped off without me even noticing. It seemed promising at first, but if you’re looking for something that will last you long, this product is not the way to go.Nintendo offers their own replacement kickstands for a mere 4 dollars each, but the joints tend to wear out very fast, and I feel that they are unreliable. A shame this product, which costs almost 3 times as much, couldn’t live up to its price.

   Now before you buy this, you have to take the backplate off the Nintendo switch so let that be known when your deciding. This kickstand was pretty good it doesn’t fall off because it actually attached to the switch. Not only that it was easy to install. I would give it 5 stars but I have 1 complain. The tools were not labeled in a way that can easily be seen. This is were the stripped screw comments are coming from. A simple sticker would have fixed that issue but for those who use the tools instead of their own, the green one has a tri-wing and the blue one is a Phillip. But besides that the product itself is solid and is worth the investment. If it didn’t work I would never pay $11 for it. As long as you’re not scared to open your switch then this would only take about 10 minute or less to install.

   The tool stripped one of the screws for my switch. I wasn’t able to get into the backing of my switch console (Yes, you have to remove the back plate of the console to install this) as a result and I could not install the stand. I’m extremely upset and I cannot get that screw out. I don’t think I can fix that. If I could get the stripped screw out and get a replacement screw then maybe it would work, but idk if I want to try the tool that comes with this again. Also, I don’t know how I could get the stripped screw out. I’m more worried about damaging my switch console, so idk if I will be using this kickstand. I’ll just deal with having to keep popping the old kickstand that came with the switch back on rather than damage my console. Be VERY careful with those tools.

   My son broke the original but this one is Super easy to install and the kickstand is way better then the original one , fits perfectly and clicks perfectly when you close the kickstand , I recommend this one for anyone and I’m very happy it came with the screwdrivers to open the switch 👌🏻

    The original stand that Nintendo built into the Switch is a cheap flimsy plastic item. Even if yours is not broken, just wait a while…
    This product is well built. The hinge part has a metal plate that screws to the console giving the stand the proper support it needs. Addition of the screw drivers is a big bonus for those who do not necessarily have those tools with them. The instructions are all pictorial, so even my 11 year old could do it with basic supervision.
