It does work and doesn’t cover the controllers at all, but the stand is even more flimsy than the one on the Switch, and the clamping system is also very flimsy. The build quality is quite cheap, so I wonder about the safety of the battery made in China.

Battery pak works great and pairs nicely with the hori split pad pro,no need to buy the switch revised version,I have all the battery life I need, and looks great also.

The battery bank works quite well and hasn’t given me any issues with the switch, but one thing about it concerns me about long term use, and that is that the battery bank almost completely blocks the air intake vents on the back of the system which could lead to overheating and potential damage to the system.

If you have a Nintendo Switch, you already know that the full charge can quickly drain the battery, depending on the game being played. Some games will use 2.5 hours before the battery needs charging, others might last the full 6 hours. So, if you are on the go and your battery dies, this handy dandy charging battery pack will work wonders. You can play while you charge. If you want to charge it faster and to the fullest capacity, it will need the switch off and about 4 hours of non stop charging. This charging battery pack has a kickstand so you can continue your play while charging. There are also lights to display when you need to charge and the power level. You can charge via a usb connector to an outlet, a computer or a vehicle usb slot. Depending on the game you are playing, it can give you up to another 10 hours of play.

On the one hand, this is just an external battery designed specifically for the Switch. On the other hand, it’s designed specifically for the Switch, so it’s less fiddly than having a regular battery pack and a cable to that.
According to the specs on nintendodotcom the Switch has a 4310 mAh battery. This is a 7000 mAh battery. So, by adding this to your Switch, you are getting 2.6 times the playing fun between charges. (How long that lasts depends on the game, but the internet says you can play Zelda for about three hours on the regular Switch battery, so this would up it to close to 8 hours. Excellent.
A nice surprise was that it arrived fully charged.
The only downside I can see is that obviously this won’t work with most cases you might have for your Switch. So choices will have to be made.

I returned this after a day of use. The charge doesn’t hold. I’m not sure if I got a defective one but another issue is the lack of a power button to turn it on and off that would’ve been more useful.

This is great for in the car, instead of the few hours we got out of the Switch, we could attach this, and get nearly all day use out of it. The kick stand feels a bit weak, and the mechanism for attaching is a bit fiddly, but it also charges via USB-C which is nice.
When charging via the external pack itself, it seems like it charges the pack, and then the switch after, and the pack itself doesn’t really seem to charge the switch (say if you attached it to a dead switch), but maybe i messed something up.
You could buy a cheaper separate battery pack, but this one attaches really nice, less cords and issues, and also charges using the same mechanism.
