This case is not thumb grip friendly. Actually, even without the thumb grips the joy sticks were being restricted. Had trouble playing animal crossing. Do not recommend.

Can’t play switch properly with the case on or charge it without taking case apart. Joy stick don’t have enough room to move all the way. And the opening for the charging port is slightly too small. It’s a shame because this case otherwise was what I was looking for, because its slim and compact. Was not easy to take off either had trouble prying the thing apart.

I put this case on my switch and the left joycon and the B button both stop working while it’s on the switch. I love the case but I cannot use it due to this issue. I’m not able to play Animal Crossing properly and if you have joycon grips, this WILL NOT work. It’s already restricted and the joycon grips don’t fit at all. This isn’t something I’d buy again. It’s honestly not worth it.
