7$ charging grip! Do I have to say more?
Nintendo charging grip is 30$ this is at the time of my review 6.99
The Nintendo charging grip has a Switch logo, and metal joycon rails.
The Nintendo one. Requires modification to use just the center, if you want to only use that.
This one requires no modification, to use just the center, without the handles.
This is a cheaper option if you are weary of modifying an official grip, don’t own a trip wing screw driver or if you are just looking to save time effort and money.
The downsides this has over an official grip?
Plastic rails will break or wear down more easily
Slightly fatter than the original grip
No glossy switch logo
But for saving 22$? It’s a great deal, the savings outweigh the cons works great, looks great, portable, and it allows for you to keep your joycon grips on, if your joycons allready have grips installed. You don’t need to remove them, just to use this center grip.

I am so happy with this grip! I use it whenever I’m playing in Dock mode and with my larger hands it is so much more comfortable than the controller grip that comes with the Switch. Makes it feel like I’m holding the Pro-controller minus the larger R,L,ZR,ZL buttons and D pad that are on the Pro-controller. It’s also really comfortable in the single joy-con grip set-up. I have two of the smaller single Joy-con controller grips which are nice but this is larger than those which makes it great for my big hands, especially since I’m used to holding the larger Pro-controller/PS4 controller. I highly recommend this to anyone that has larger hands and is seeking a more comfortable controller grip.

Be aware that this does not charge as it does not have a battery, it’s a pass through connection to charge the joy cons. Either buy the real deal or find one that says it has a battery, don’t think charging dock means it has a batter as it’s misleading.

If you’re looking for a large grip for dual Joycon mode then this one is perfect. Low price point, has a Type-C port to charge while using, ergonomic, and great for large hands.
If you’re looking for a large grip for single Joycon mode then I’m sorry. First off, it is *too* large for single mode. I have decently sized man hands and I still have to *reach*. On a right Joycon the stick is too far. On a left Joycon the buttons are too far. The L and R triggers are *awful* as well, they didn’t register even when fully pressed more often than not. Removing the Joycon was a nightmare as well- normally single’con grips have a hole in the back that you can just push it out of. This one doesn’t due to it’s modular design, but hoo boy does it GRIP your Joycon. You have to either slowly wedge it out or try to pry it out and risk damaging it.
All in all, it has one mode that works perfectly for those with large hands and one mode that doesn’t work at all.
